I can't tell you how very happy I am that you've stumbled across my piece of the internet to view the announcement of the new Leah Maria Photography blog site! To say that this has been a long time coming would be a colossal understatement. Leah Maria Photography has been in existence for an unbearably long year without a logo, presence or vision and you're not the only one surprised that it's continued while lacking those key pieces to a successful business! I was as well, and practically beat myself up at every opportunity for failing to operate as a what I deemed a "real" company.

But what I began to realize is that perception isn't everything. Clients, you - my fantastic clients, kept inquiring, returning to me for follow up sessions, because of a connection with me, not my brand. I want to thank everyone who has ever put their faith in me to capture a smile, giggle or momentous moment despite the appearance of my business, appreciating my personality and ability to photograph more.

It's now time to reward that faith, by looking at something pretty! Please join me at the new Leah Maria Photography blog site!

Michelle and Sean - Sneak Peak | Minneapolis-St.Paul Wedding and Portrait Photographer

Michelle and Sean have known each other since high school, but are still super sweet on each other! It was so nice to watch their respect for each other throughout our session. In addition to the frienship they maintain in their relationship, I also got a glimpse of Sean's humor, which no doubt is a factor in their love story.

They're getting married in May and I'm so looking forward to it!

Last night I ventured on down to Hidden Valley Park in Savage. Hidden it was, as both the Carlen family and I questioned whether there would be a park in the midst of the neighborhood, but it was also just perfect for our 1 year session with Oliver!

Smells Like Bonfire | Minneapolis-St.Paul Wedding and Portrait Photographer

As I mentioned in my super sneak last week, this shoot was the brain child of Gina Zeidler. Way back in May, corresponding with Jason and Lacey's four year wedding anniversary, we threw down a midwestern bonfire shoot. Lacey infused her Texas flair and even rocked out the session at 6 months pregnant. If only we could all be that lucky. :) Baby Lylah is actually due to arrive Sunday! We had to hold off on our sharing the images [Gina's post here], as Southern Weddings Blog picked Gina's up and wanted to show them on the first day of fall, here.

Every detail was seamless due to Gina's meticulous planning, from the colors of the plaid to the red of the vintage Coleman canteen. It was such a pleasure to shoot such beautiful people in an ideal setting!

It's funny for me though, piecing these blog boards together, how much has changed in my style, skill and approach in just 4 months. I only hope to continue to learn and adjust at the pace that I have in the past year!

On Sunday, after a whirlwind weekend that included 6 hours of drive time, 90 minutes played of my alumni soccer game, a picnic and a visit to a zoo, I think I was fully primed to meet with this family of cuties! Erin and I have read each other's blogs for going on at least 3 years now and it was such a treat to finally get to meet both her and her handsome brood of boys! Oh yes, that's right she has 3 young men to call her Mom.

Lincoln and Wyatt had a blast running along the trail both from and away their Dad, John.

I think Erin nailed their color combos. She emailed that they'd be "matchy, but hopefully not matchy enough to get us on Awkward Family Photos one day!" Love it!

And this sweet one, oh Mr. Judah. I can't even imagine anything being done with him around. The world just stopped spinning when in his presence. He made nary a peep!

Way back in May, I was able to tag along with this girl, Gina Zeidler, as she dreamed up a bonfire shoot with some beautiful people I'm lucky enough to call friends! Yeah, that's right, for fun I hang out with a knock out named Lacey and her husband Jason, who I've been friends with for way too long. Tonight, I had quite honestly the most fantastic newborn session I have ever witnessed, let alone took part in. Little miss Rory arrived 4 days early, had a quick stay in the NICU, but is all ready a plump 8lbs! All though we expected her to be a bit lively when I showed up, she was an absolute peach and stayed completely content the whole time I was shooting. I couldn't help but post a quick sneak peak!

Tonight I headed up to Shields Lake Park in Forest Lake to meet with a former soccer teammate, Chrissy and her family. The man of the hour was her little man Max, who's two years old. I decided on the location based on one photo from the Forest Lake Park's website, so I was very pleased by the pleasant little scene when I pulled up.

Max was also a fan and was intent on exploring every available space! He was certainly into everything, so there was quite a bit of this going on.

Don't worry though Chris, there was enough of these as well.

Chrissy, I'm so happy that you contacted me to do these pictures! It just boggles my mind that in just under a decade we went from scoping out the fields at the USA Cup to discussing the similarities between our rapidly growing boys!

So, here's the run down on this amazing family. Nadia and I met in college, where we were soccer teammates. Truth be told, she knows this, I didn't care for her much. She was sassy, sarcastic, confident and just a bit outspoken. It didn't take me long to realize though that those are the very reasons to love her as well, especially when you find out that she's loyal, practical and extremely caring.

And we've been friends ever since, which . . . has been a remarkable 8 years all ready! Man, oh man. That is crazy. Nad's I don't know what I would do without you as my sounding board.

Back to the pictures, Nadia's brother, Matt and his family were going to be visiting Minnesota for a planned family reunion. Nadia is a born planner so months away, while Rebecca was still pregnant with Ethan, she contacted me to set up a family session as a present to Matt and Rebecca. Of course, we couldn't stop there though. :)

First up, Nadia and Aaron, who will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary in just a month!

I happen to think that I have really attractive friends, even when they can't settle down from laughing. :)

And then, it was time to shoot Matt, Rebecca, Lila and Ethan. Can you say that these kids lucked out on their parents or what?

Rebecca is just too beautiful and the love that she has for her children is obvious to all. She just dotes on her little 2 month old Ethan and oh, did that ramp up my baby fever. She's got so much love for him!

Let's not forget about Lila though! This girl has the biggest personality and greeted me with the sweetest hug as soon as I stepped out of my car. I just love this series.

It's a shame they live down south, I could photograph this every weekend. :)

And of course we had to seize the opportunity for a family picture, as Yasmin flew in from Dubai to surprise Nadia!

And then Ahmed fed me and all was right in my world. Another spoonful of yogurt, please?

Sister's Family Session | Minneapolis-St.Paul Wedding and Portrait Photographer

I was first contacted by Sarah to schedule a family session that corresponded with her sister's visit to Minnesota from California on a weekend that I was unavailable. I was so glad to learn though that we would be able to make it work on another date!

We headed up to the Lions Coon Creek Park in Coon Rapids and had a great time with first Sydney and older brother Blake:

Additionally, Sarah's sister Stephanie came with their adorable daughter in a matching dress to Sydney's! She wasn't too sure about my large camera, but isn't she such a doll?

All aspects of this family session went well, even with so many moving parts! The kids held up great and the location was perfect for bribery as they were happily playing on the playground as I left the park. :)

Soren | A Birth in Pictures

As a part of my busy month of July, you can chalk up my first time attending a birth not transpiring in my own body and photographing that birth. Pretty intense if you ask me!

Birth photography was something extremely important to me when preparing for my son Isaac's birth and my husband and I aligned services from Melissa with Moments in Time Photography. It was unfortunate in only one way that Isaac made his arrival so quickly [less than two hours after being admitted to the hospital], we made an incorrect judgement call in telling Melissa to stay home. We did not get photos from Isaac's birth and if I hadn't reminded Tony to grab the point and shoot, I'm not sure what pictures we would have at all!

That being said, when I was approached by my friend Randine to photograph her upcoming home birth I jumped at the opportunity. When I received the phone call from her doula early one morning and distinctly heard the deep groans of labor in the background, I won't lie, I wondered what I was getting myself into.

Once I was with Randine though all of my energy was focused on shooting and praying, there was no room for timidness. There was no room for fear either, as Randine was the picture of control.

Randine is a birth advocate, quick to recite "Trust Birth," and had planned so many aspects of her birth. The water birth, her friend Jenny acted as her doula and Vanessa's limited action as her midwife allowed Randine to advance her birth just as her body told her. Her husband Chris never ceased to show Randine support.

Also important to Randine was including their daughter Gracie, who did so well and so much compassion for her mother.

Randine flew through early and middle labor, which I'm sure she'll hate me for saying. I was so incredibly impressed by her composure.

After that though . . . transition hit and it hit hard. There were a few short minutes between contractions that would result in furtive requests by Randine to be done, but there was no desperation or conviction in her voice. She knew that if anyone was in control, that she was.

There were few periods of rest now and the anticipation of a new life was thick in the air, just as Randine attempted to muffle her screams of pain.

Words of comfort, placement of hands to provide counter pressure and the like were useless. Randine was on her own while we all watched. She was alone in her pain, but knew there was only one possible outcome: her child's arrival.

And with one final enormous effort, [yes, she's biting the side of the pool], he was present. It almost seemed to simple.

I've never experienced anything so touching that I wasn't directly involved in. It was absolutely spiritual and beautiful. I've never been so proud of someone that I call a friend.

Congratulations again Randine. I can't thank you enough for asking me to go outside of my comfort zone and attend Soren's birth. You were a true inspiration. I know that some of the true labor pictures are difficult to view, but please know even in your few moments of weakness, you were nothing less than inspiring to me. The strength and dignity that you showed? Absolutely incredible.

Man, if there was ever a blog slowly dying, a month plus without a post would surely be a good indication! I suppose it's to be expected during the high time of summer, but if anyone still checks this baby out I plan to never go that long again!

This summer has been amazing and quite life changing. Tony and I have really buckled down and made some decisions, embraced way too many unknowns to count and are still managing to keep connected through all of the changes. I've shot more this year than probably the total of my adult life, by assisting Gina Zeidler at the vast majority of her 26+ weddings. The experience, knowledge and friendship that I've gained are without monetary value. I can see my future and all of my dreams for it, it's just the application of change that has to be sorted through to finally progress.

The passing of time has been all too apparent this summer through the daily and weekly, let alone monthly changes in Isaac.

The responsibility of being a parent can be overwhelming at times, and I've found myself very emotional at weddings lately due to the popularity of slideshows shown at some point through out the day. There's just something about being a photographer and seeing the reduction of one's childhood to mere photos. Every slideshow I watch just makes me come undone and realize the responsibility that I have to maximize my relationship with my son . . . and take even more pictures, as if that's possible. :)

We've also had our share of heartache this summer. It seems so silly to correlate to a fortune cookie, but I often think of the one hanging on our fridge [or as my husband calls it the "refridge"], by Oliver Wendell Holmes "One's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions." I can't seem to better relate to anyone quote than this one. It seems many things that were once intangible were made realistic, only to be taken away this year. While I'm not sorry for the experiences, my thought process has forever been altered by them.

This summer, just August 5, also marked our 4 year wedding anniversary. Tony and I took the time to celebrate by using a gift card my brother gave me for Christmas. What can I say? We don't get out much anymore! :) We spent a lovely evening reflecting, sharing and planning for our future. It was an amazing time.

This man? He's still got it. My heart, adoration, respect. Everything.

I haven't gotten very personal on here, nor have I really updated, so I just thought I'd take the opportunity to get caught up! More picture posts to come, as I have so many fun shoots coming up, including the majority of my weddings this year!

Sneak Peak | Nikki and Roman

I first met Nikki when she jadedly, bubbled her way into my previous team at work. How can one be effervescent and dole out more than daily doses of reality? I haven’t got the foggiest idea, but Nikki manages it. And if she ever could be matched, Roman equals her in life. I’ve only met Roman a few, okay, maybe one other time, but I knew going into our session that pictures were not high on his list of fun activities. I was right, but I underestimated his love for Nikki. :)

Of all of the sessions I’ve shot, capturing their love was the easiest. There were barely any cued kisses, suggestive touching. It was already happening and I loved every second!

I can’t wait for your wedding in September you guys! It’ll be here before you know it! For now, enjoy the sneak peak!

Summer is here in full force and there is so much to do and see, and um, emails to respond to! I apologize to anyone kept hanging lately. Friday night I was able to meet up with Robin and Scott in Elk River. They will be getting married in Robin's sister's backyard, which is not an adequate description [!], so that's where we began our pictures. These four frames were all shot within the first 10 minutes, so I will for sure be doing a full blog post of the rest of our fun evening. There is just so much to share, for now though, enjoy the sneak peak!

Sneak Peak | Jeff and Lisa

This past weekend was a bewildering display of nature with downpours daily and gorgeous evenings! It was also jam packed with goodness and I'm so glad that I was able to meet Lisa finally! I've been Jeff's coworker for almost a 1 1/2 years now, but had only heard snippets of his girl. Jeff was a great supporter of my photography early on and I'm so glad that Lisa agreed to have me photograph their wedding without our even meeting.

For their engagement session we headed down to Bloomington to the very park that Lisa grew up running through and which Jeff used as the location for the proposal. I was thoroughly impressed by the nature in Bloomington, who would have thought?!

Sneak Peak | Todd and Julie's Wedding

Sunday afternoon I was privileged to take part in the beautiful union of Todd and Julie at the fabulous W Minneapolis - The Foshay. The space was absolutely perfect for their intimate 40 guest ceremony.

To witness their marriage was truly an honor with such a small party, as the love they were enveloped in was so rich, so true! Emotions definitely ran high in the beautiful art deco building and how could they not with such a beautiful couple? Julie and Todd made my job easy as pie! Take a look at their sneak peak.

Sneak Peak | Kyle

Whew! Life has just been crazy lately. There have been so many great opportunities to really test and strengthen my business and creativity, and along the way I've learned that not every opportunity needs be explored. In some situations the lesson learned can be gained by turning down an offer.

This however does not apply in the least to the Steffens' family! I couldn't wait to meet little Kyle. :) Kim and Brian were a part of a small group that Tony and I used to participate in prior to well, prior to a lot of things. Kim had just announced her pregnancy not long before we had to leave the group, so it was great to catch up with them.

Of course, catching up also involved a ton of super cute Kyle pictures! I hope you enjoy your sneak peak.

Fair Success

This past weekend, due to the prodding of my great friend Kirsten of Fab.you.lous Events, I took part in the I Do Redo Sale at the Maple Grove Community Center. Leading up to the event there were several unknowns, as it was the first sale and no one was quite sure what to expect. Let's just say there are now several great expectations for the next event, which rumor has it may be this fall!

Due to sessions in the morning, I had the most fantastic Leah Maria Photography representative in my place: my husband, Tony. To all of those who had the opportunity to meet him, I'm sure you know why it was an easy decision. All though he may not know an f-stop from a truck stop, he is passionate about my success because he knows how much enjoyment I take from photography.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by! While the majority seemed to have spoken with Tony, I sincerely enjoyed those of you who I was also able to meet! I look forward to continuing or initiating our conversations regarding your photography needs.

Sneak Peak | Mini Sessions

I was absolutely blown away by my Mini Sessions this past Saturday! To tell the truth I was a little apprehensive, as the day failed to book up, but the 4 sessions that I had were absolutely amazing. Lisa, Chris, Laura, Nick, Kier, Nic, Cheri, Roger and Maddie THANK YOU. I had a fantastic day and it's all to your credit for being incredible people, plus two extremely cute baby girls!

I would be completely remiss if I didn't thank my Mom, without who's support I would never have the confidence to have taken photography past a hobby. Plus her Aunt Louise's bars were a stellar hit and I think everyone was won over by them, even if they do require 3 sticks of butter to make! :)

Here's the Mini Session sneak peak.

Little doll Hayden celebrated her first birthday on Easter and who can pass up a large number one* or Easter dress to be incorporated? She was all laughs and smiles and even made the scrunchy face that I love! She's one silly girl who loves her parents.

*An additional huge thank you to my husband Tony. He scrambled last minute to create this number one and it's just one of the many ways he daily affirms his love for me. I'm a lucky girl.

Between this session and the next I took the opportunity to meet with a potential bride and groom, Kayla and Tory. It was so great to meet with them and discuss their wedding plans, including guest list pains due to large families! Tory, I hope that you had success at the bean bag tourney!

Next up was the absolutely precious Autumn. She is just 6 months old and couldn't have been more adorable. From her big blue eyes to her sweet summer dress, such a cutie pie! She was enamored with anything new, but especially Laura's necklace! I can commiserate Laura!

In an unbelievable show of support, my friend's from youth Kierstan and Nic decided spontaneously to make the trek from Iowa home to surprise friend's and family . . . and to do a session with me. Kier, it really meant the world to me that you crossed state lines to come on Saturday. The world. As if that didn't show why they're awesome, this sequence will.

Kierstan even became my pitchwoman and drug her Mom and Roger in for a session. Roger's accent and quizzical looks were hilarious and kept Cheri laughing. Could they be any sweeter?

Sydney | 1 Year

Oh little miss Sydney is an absolute peach. She just seems like the sweetest little lady and Laura of course had the most precious ribbon sweater and coordinating accessories, including Johan. :)

We joked that a Spoonbridge and Cherry picture was too cliche . . . but it's one of my favorites and I've never taken a picture including it!

I love these sweet family moments. Clapping can be such fun activity and Sydney loved Patty Cake.

There was so much going on that Sydney didn't necessarily want to do what was suggested, but she managed to look cute throughout.

The wind just kicked up as we had Sydney standing on the bench and her eyes completely lit up when she saw her Kitty. Such a doll!

Gjenvick's I appreciate our impromtu session so much! Thank you for spending Saturday with me.

For any of you super sleuths, little miss Sydney is actually JD's cousin. Laura and Sarah are sisters and just have the cutest kids! Sydney is also a little over a month older than my son Isaac, so it's been really fun to watch her grow over this past year!

After a reschedule due to pneumonia on Syd's first birthday, we were able to meet up this past Sunday. It was beautiful and sunny, just like Sydney's temperament!

Baby Ethan | 6 Months

Can you believe this guy is already 6 months old? He is already quite the dashing little guy and has got a charming smile to boot! I can always count on Christina to prepare a great family ensemble and she didn't disappoint.

I just love rosey cheeked babes!

It was a beautiful spring day and we took the opportunity to break out the rocking horse. Ethan was a fan!

Look at those peepers!

That's the smile I was talking about.

Ethan's already incredibly strong on his hands and knees. Speaking from experience, I expect he'll be on the move shortly!

Soft baby kisses, baby drool and dimpled baby bottoms, what's not to like?

Baby Claire | 4 Months

I had the absolute pleasure to meet up with the my past internship supervisor in Wisconsin last weekend. Kayte and Dustin allowed me to photograph in their beautiful home, but of course Claire stole the show!

Doesn't she have the most beatiful blue eyes?

As I mentioned before, Claire didn't want share any additional smiles, but Kayte pulled out all of her tricks to change her mind.

In my opinion we really weren't lacking in photo options minus the smiles. She is just too cute!

There's nothing like pictures of mother and child.

And we got to finish with a few family pictures! Although Claire did not want to look at the camera at this point. :)

I can't say that I blame her! Kayte and Dustin kissing Claire is my absolute favorite.

Claire is one of those precious littles who smiles with her whole face. Absolutely beautiful and completely compelling, you must smile in return! Unfortunately for us on Saturday, most were given within the first 5 minutes. She is just as cute when she's not smiling though! Check out the sneak peak with her Mom, Kayte.

The Eiden's + One

Last Saturday I had the priveledge to join my husband's cousin's family to take a two year and family session. Sarah and Lee are also expecting a baby girl in July, so this time is very important to them as they prepare to become a family of four!

JD had an ample supply of toys due to his recent birthday and had a ball working his way through them!

But as I mentioned before nothing caught his attention like the phrase "library book!"

We even got to venture outside to enjoy the moderate warm spell. JD thought it was a swell idea!

JD had a blast making snowballs with his Dad and throwing them at their puppers!

Snowballs proved to be just as powerful as library books and Sarah tried bribing JD with one in turn for a kiss.

Now, I've never done a two year session, but between the 1 and 3 year sessions I thought I was prepared . . . Sarah is pregnant with JD's new sister Samantha Gean and let me tell you, I have no idea how she's handling it!

JD is all boy and all energy . . . until the magic words are spoken: library book!

I'm so excited to offer this opportunity! The space is a fabulous studio, with gorgeous wood floors and exposed brick, with good space to venture outside if the weather is amiable.

I really do mean [YOU]! Anything really goes: bellies, babies, family or pure love, let's even throw in headshots or senior sessions!

Again, the struggle | Light up Ahead

As a blogger, I've come to light up at the sight of the contrasting navy and orange of the blogger service. In general the days of writer's block are few and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to put pen on paper, er fingers to keyboard.

And then . . . we arrive at this venture. I seem to be a big 'ol photography blog failure. My personal posts seem to stay personal, never crossing into photography and my photography posts stay pictorial, never showing any depth.

What a dilemma. At least it's consistent though. I do seem to be facing dilemmas in pursuing this gig. There's the time issue, which really is two fold. I don't seem to have enough time in the day to make this into what I see in my heart, believe in my mind that it can be, nor am I willing to sacrifice the time with my family that so incredibly defines who I am. In addition, there's the money catch 22. Why must one always have money to make money? Not that I'm intent on being wealthy, just a borderline profitability would do. :)

There are definitely highlights though and they seem to be growing brighter, just as the sun is gaining strength in Minnesota!

For one, I've booked yet another wedding. Just a few months ago this seemed unattainable, a year ago unimaginable. I wouldn't be here without the support of family and friends, especially those early ones entrusting their faith.

And as a push towards something tangible, I have business cards. Real business cards which have my name and contact on them. Like a big timer. And to top it off, I'm pretty sure they're going to be gone soon . . . but I'm okay with that, as I have commissioned the start of my first branding and identity!

I'm stoked to begin the process with Rhian! I connected with her through the wonders of Etsy, and it appears that she has made quite a few people happy. I was immediately drawn to her use of illustrations and the depth that they employ to create 3 dimensionality. Wouldn't you agree [this is just an example of her work]?

So thanks for hanging in there with me! I'm excited by the prospect of the future and can not wait to shed the drabness of winter for the potential blooms of spring! There will be a mini-session post coming, as well as a new website and blog!

Jocelyn did not have the most pleasant labor experience, beginning with a breech external version, which did work, but ultimately led to a c-section after Meghan showed an unusual presentation. I didn't ask, but I'm sure it was quickly forgotten as soon as she laid eyes on her beautiful daughter!

Sweet Meghan literally took my breath away. It has been so much fun for me to shoot these sessions with these little beauties, quite a difference my rough and tumble little boy.

We didn't get many smiles out of Meghan, but man when we did . . .

Jason's great grandma made the most adorable bonnet and booties in anticipation of Meghan.

When I went to my Mom's last night to pick up my love bug Isaac, my Mom showed me this picture that my Grandma had just given her.

At least 65 years ago my grandparents settled into a booth at the local county fair, up Nort in Minnesota. Not yet married, this was the beginning of their love story. This was the result of my Grandpa doing the chivalrous thing when my Grandma's date had too much to drink. My Grandpa loves to tell of holding my Grandma's hand as my Grandma's date was passed out on the back seat as he gave them both a ride home. Poor sucker had it coming.

This was Elmer and Lorene, before the 5 kids, the homestead, the snowmachines and the love and heartache that they've faced in their lifetime together.

This was Elmer and Lorene, just two kids starting out their lives.

And without this photo, it would all just be stories. Wonderful stories, but without these smiles. You can see the pull of my Grandpa's arm as he's drawing my Grandma in and that smile of my Grandma's? Don't get me started.

This is why I love my craft. While the direct intention is to please the client, I know that I am responsible for a greater story. I don't want my clients future great grandchildren to know my name, I want them to see the story that would have otherwise remained locked in words.

Wedded: 2nd Shooting

January 30th I was able to accompany Gina Zeidler down to Norwood/Young America to assist her at the wedding of Bevan and Liz.

Due to our ongoing uploading I didn't walk away with a lot of photos, but am able to share some of my favorites taken midway through the day.

A sweet moment before leaving for the ceremony. Liz and Bevan couldn't have been better supported by their friends and family.

Liz's Dad snuck a peak just before their grand entrance and even snagged one last reassuring kiss to her hand.

United despite their origins [New Zealand and America], Bevan and Liz were inseperable and totally jazzed.

Liz's color and detail choices were right up my alley!

I think most Minnesotans know the drudge we experience in February. We are just sooo over winter and yet Spring is no where in sight! The sun seems to refuse to shine and we're generally working when it does, only to return home after darkness.

I was so glad to have the opportunity to step outside and remember the beauty of winter and and the sun.

Sometimes it really is the little things.

While I seem to be quite proficient at blogging, what I consider normally, the little time that this photography blog has been in existence I've struggled with content.

My bookmarks are remarkably full of fantastic photographers, whose images speak for themselves, and yet, the words only propel the images further. I'm going to task myself to elevate both my images and my writing to that point.

My photography will establish it's own voice, I'm sure of it. It will reflect the beauty I seek in every day life, ignoring and cherishing the dirty dishes that may lay just around the corner. Because that's who I am, literally. I'm a huge dorky mother, who doesn't have time for elaborate displays of artsy-fartsy work. There are enough successful photographers whose work rivals art that I don't need to mess around.

I want the profoundly simple image.

That moment that would never be remembered in a tangible way, if it weren't for the click of a shutter.

And I want to share that with you.

If you remember the Cole's, you'll be happy to meet the lovely Miss Sydney. She was just 3 days overdue and made a quick arrival!

Laura and Steve are amazingly smitten with her and it's easy to see why. With her gorgeous eyes and thick hair she is a beautiful sight to see. I've never witnessed such quick smiles either, they are enamored for sure!

When my coworker Matt asked to do a surprise session for his wife I was too happy to oblige! I knew Matt and Brita would be up for something a little different and I was itching to do a session at the library downtown!

Although the surprise part backfired a bit due to Brita wishing her hair were different, both Matt and I were happy with the images. :) We're convinced Brita would look gorgeous no matter what she does!

I first met Beth, when her Dad coached my first soccer team. While Randy and I were close friends in middle school.
